Week2 Assignment#3 Reading 101/Videos

What I have learned from this assignment is that Print awareness is that children have this and it is known  from the child that print has different functions.They can tell the difference between menus, storytelling and signs. Print is read left to right and the child knows this pattern. This is the earliest introduction to literacy. Sound of Speech is something that children are raised with and have Linguistic connections with. You can tell the difference between worlds that sound similar. Great skills for childhood development in reading and using rhyming words will help build a child's phonological awareness. Phonemic Awareness is the ability to notice and work with individual sounds of spoken words. Children who cannot work with phonemes of spoken words have great difficulty with relating them while learning the functions. These three key terms are crucial for a childrens learning process of reading and writing early on.

If I wrote a book about myself I would call it Heather's Independence . The reason for this is because I feel after many years of being who I thought I was , I am not changing into this really amazing woman who just is loving life again. 

I do not personally have a favorite joke but I do love to laugh, it's more that people will tell me jokes then me be the one with the jokes. 

I am not currently a teacher . I am in my third semester at NYIT in the graduate program for Childhood education, and I am loving it and looking forward to become an actual teacher.

My favorite subject is language arts so for me I am pretty up to date on teaching language arts because it draws my attention greatly.

I have learned alot about new literacies since being a graduate student here and I feel like every semester I am learning more and more and seeing how truly important it is in the teaching world. 

My concerns for taking this class is always that I fear I will not succeed,or I will struggle I always get nervous when a new semester comes. I know the professor we have for this course is amazing and I will learn so much so I know I will be calm as the weeks go on.
